About the Space
This lab focuses on the simulation of how fluids and gases would react to different materials in various environments. Ranging from wind to water and heat to steam. The space will be shared with Miami University students, fostering collaboration, innovation, and a deeper understanding of advanced manufacturing practices.
A tunnel of wind that can simulate speeds of air currents up to 100m/s
A fully instrumented steam-electric power plant designed for hands-on engineering education and thermodynamic analysis.
Armfield Heat Transfer Service Unit
A machine that creates simulations and demonstrations of heat transfer
HVAC trainer Unit (Water source and sink)
A specialized educational system designed to teach the principles and operation of HVAC systems that use water as the primary medium for heat exchange.
A fluid mechanics apparatus used to study energy losses in pipe systems caused by fittings like bends, valves, and sudden expansions or contractions.
